Another Person in the Treatment Room
There are several situations in which it can be beneficial to have another person in the room during treatment.
Client Family Members and Friends
Some clients are more comfortable with a friend or family member in the room during treatment.
This kind of work is not the easiest thing to describe. An easy way to satisfy a family member or friend's curiosity is to let them watch treatment sessions.
For either reason you are welcome to bring a family member or friend with you to any treatment session.
Minors/Children
When young people less than 18 years of age are treated, a parent or grandparent or other designated adult family member will be in the room at all times.
Another Therapist
After more than 30 years in practice I enjoy passing what I have learned onto other practitioners. In addition to teaching continuing education classes for other therapists, I invite selected therapists to work with me in my office. Sometimes the invited therapist simply observes. On other occasions we may work four-handed.
Some clients consider a second therapist in the treatment room a bonus. Other clients prefer private treatment sessions. Please let me know your preference. You are welcome to change your mind at any time.
If you are working with another healthcare practitioner of any kind, you are welcome to invite that practitioner to be present during your treatment session. Please advise me in advance if you plan to bring another therapist.
